The Zwevealisk is a Tier 3 gliding semi-aquatic carnivore. The species is available in the Time Gacha that costs 30 hours (1,800 minutes) of actively playing the game. The stored version is available in the Trial Creatures Shop for 562 Shooms.
Description
“ | Zwevealisk are a versatile and adaptable creature species built for the skies and sea. They prefer to live atop ocean cliffsides and mountains where they are able to glide effortlessly among thermal currents from the sea. They are typically piscivores, but will take advantage of any prey they come across. Utilizing their razor-like teeth, Zwevealisk can inject and spray lethal amounts of venom. | „ |
~ In-game Description |
Behavior
- The Zwevealisk are very instinct based, example being that as soon as they hatch they fend for themselves without care from parents.
- Zwevealisks glide in flocks, but only do so for the opportunity to scavenge or take down larger prey.
- If a Zwevealisk is singled out from a group, it will rely on spitting a blinding venom in the attackers eyes to get a chance to escape.
Appearance
The Zwevealisk is a thin but well-built snake-like creature that resembles a blue glaucus. It has wing-like limbs and a long tail adorned with fan-like feathered arrangements that take after leaves near the middle and tip of the tail. The back and tail have curved spines that peak near the shoulder and base of the tail. It has a rather small head, with frills attached to the cheek and horns protruding from the sides and top of the head. The hood that hangs around the head, neck and plaques features teardrop-like markings and attach to the mass that connects to its limbs throughout its body, similar to a sea slug. It has gold pointed teeth along with a black tongue.
Males
Males have a black v-shaped marking on their necks.
Females
Females have a black narrow V-shaped marking near the tip of their tail.
Abilities
Main Article: Creature Abilities
This section is intended to list and describe the abilities of the Zwevealisk/Legacy. (editor list)
- Bleed is a passive offensive ability, where a creature inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite (not with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities) AKA "Offensive Bleed". This particular passive offensive is resisted by creatures with the Bleed Defense ability, and it does not work against creatures with the Unbreakable ability. The opposite of the Bleed passive ability is Thorns.[Collapse] Info[Expand] to know more about Bleed Status.
- Bleed Info:
- "Bleed" is also a status effect which stops health regeneration and deals raw damage to the victim every 3 seconds (meaning that from two creatures with identical bleed defense, the creature with the most health can endure bleeding for a far longer time before being crippled).
Like poison, your HP cannot fall from this status if you are sitting, cowering or laying down while gravely injured (below 10% max health); but unlike it, depending on how you move and what pose you are using, damage output and level changes.
While sitting, laying down, or cowering, visible bleed halves, and base bleed healing speed increases. Staying still and upright only makes bleed heal itself at a moderate pace, walking stops the bleed to heal on its own, and running not only increase the apparent bleed level by 1.375 approximately, but makes it slowly increase on its own.
It also follows a three stage severity system, on this case depending on the base amount of Bleed multiplied by a factor (x0.5 if laying down or sitting while still, x1.0 if still but standing up or walking, x1.375 if running or ambushing), which is what we see on screen:- STAGE 1 (0-10 bleed): health regeneration is disabled, plus raw damage except if below 10% health while sitting/lying (when staying still and not performing any healing animation, deals 0.5 damage when lying down, 0.75 while sitting, 1.0 when still upright, 1.5 when walking and 2.0 while running).
- STAGE 2 (1-20 bleed): stage 1 effects and decreases stamina regeneration by 25%.
- STAGE 3 (Beyond 21 bleed, with no longer a max of 30 while stationary): stage 1 effects but buffed slightly, plus a stamina regeneration decrease by 50%.
- "Bleed" is also a status effect which stops health regeneration and deals raw damage to the victim every 3 seconds (meaning that from two creatures with identical bleed defense, the creature with the most health can endure bleeding for a far longer time before being crippled).
- Bleed Defense is a passive ability that allows creatures to resist the effects of Bleed. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% bleed defense, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. If a creature's Bleed Defense is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed done by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages, that is, a creature with 100% bleed defense will have some fraction of bleed defense while growing, being such fraction bigger as it grows.
- Streamlined is a passive ability which buffs the player when submerged underwater for more than 15 seconds.
- When the player is submerged in water for 15 or more seconds they will receive the following buffs:
- 25% more speed.
- 100% more stamina regeneration.
- 100% more total stamina.
- 25% slower hunger drain.
- When the player is submerged in water for 15 or more seconds they will receive the following buffs:
- Toxin is a status effect that is applied by inflicting damage through contact melee attacks and contains three levels of severity when stacking the effect, similar to other Poisons, such as Poison (with poison and toxin being stacked together) and Radiation Sickness. The first stage from 0-11 of this effect, decreases health and stamina regeneration by 25%. From 11-20, it depletes stamina by 3% every 3 seconds. From 20 and higher, it damages 3% of the target's max health every 3 seconds. If sitting or laying, the health of creatures inflicted with this effect will not be lowered by this status below 10%.
Gameplay
Pros
The Zwevealisk is a glider-semiaquatic with decent appetite stat, allowing it to survive for a bit without food or water in the very rare case it cannot find those by itself, since it has access to the oceans and skies for food, search and shelter. Its ambush gives it a slight advantage over non-ambushers, specially outside water or at the moment of entering the water.
The Zwevealisk also has a moderate bleed stat and a bit of toxin, making it good for doing substantial statusing quickly and helping. Zwevealisk also has bleed defense, protecting it somewhat against opposing bleed from other creatures, and a decent-enough HP regeneration, so getting to full health once hurt from raw damage takes a reasonable amount of time.
While the Zwevealisk has low stamina and stamina regeneration, its Streamlined ability gives it a decent boost to these stats, as well as speed, while underwater (albeit some of this boost is lost due to the stamina drain most semi-aquatics have). This reduces the number of time to rest between water chases, allowing for a decent performance and not needing as much water and food underwater. Due to how the Streamlined ability works, a Zwevealisk with Streamlined active also has the number of glide boosts it can do from the water increased, since until you touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
Its nightvision is good enough to detect creatures with night stalker without the huge debuff creatures with better nightvision suffer.
Cons
The Zwevealisk has a low stamina stat and regeneration, meaning it's not ideal for escaping attacks, especially outside water. Even inside water its Streamlined ability needs some time to boost its stats so rapidly changing between land and water will leave it with non-busted stats. Its damage while OK when combined with its OK weight is a bit low against several heavier creatures and not powerful-enough to prevent defensive status effects from reacting, giving it a disadvantage in face-to-face combat, against creatures which resist its status effects, and creatures with high-level status effects like the poisonous Eulopii. In general the Zwevealisk is somewhat slow, having both a low fly speed and high turn, again making it hard to escape direct attacks and more agile creatures aiming for vulnerable spots.
Carry-able Creatures
The Can-Carry lists features lists of creatures that Zwevealisk/Legacy is carried by, can carry, can grab, and can be grabbed by in LEGACY. To see the lists and their toggles to view each, click on the collapsible text to the right of the table below, to Expand or Collapse the list.
Trivia
- Concept by Dragoonalithe in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord.
- The Zwevealisk is "based on Cobras, the Glaucus, and Banshees from Avatar (Quoted by Concept Creator Dragoonalithe)."
- Modeled by CatboyNathann.
- Animated by BlckBrryJam.
- Zwevealisk is the very first gliding semi-aquatic creature, the second being Gryvila.
- The Zwevealisk replaced Kohikii in the time gacha; Kohikii is now available in normal gachas.
- Zwevealisk had a bug related to getting stuck using the flap animation after gliding or boosting after pressing the spacebar button twice. This seems to have been patched.
- Zwevealisk is one of the only creatures to inflict dual statuses upon attacking (bleed and toxin), the others being Cryptoth, Diokrine, Hygos, and Undoli.
- Zwevealisk previously borrowed calls from Pero before receiving new ones on June 24th, 2022. [Expand] for Classic Calls.
