The Winter Event 2022-2023, the game's third Winter Event, is an event which began on December 17th, 2022, at 6:53 PM PST, and lasted three (3) weeks long, ending on January 6th, 2023, at 7:00 PM PST.
Before the Event
Not much was known about this event, apart from the obvious:
- Multiple returning creatures from previous winter events were expected to be in this event.
- Winter event Plushies and Color Palettes/Legacy would return.
- It would start in mid December and would probably last until early January.
Event Parts
The event progresses in parts, and each part introduces features, creatures, or customization options to the game.
Part 1
Part 1 released on December 17th. Upon the release of the event, returning minigames, 4 creatures, all winter palettes and plushies, and the return of Christmas Event currency were introduced to the game. Some modifications to the game's map and trade realm were also made, which included things like splotches of snow texture scattered around. Obtaining Event Currency
This winter event introduced its own unique currency called Gifts. To obtain gifts, players can purchase them from the Christmas Store in the Main Menu, they can collect the Giftboxes that appear randomly across the map (typically in the same areas where food can spawn and distinctive by their glow), and they can attack the Fallen Star every 6 minutes.
Gift Boxes
Depending on the color of the Box wrapper, the player may receive a different outcome:
- Red presents with a green wrapping award 1-5 Gifts.
- Blue presents with orange wrapping enter a Creature Trivia Minigame. At the moment there are two minigames:
- The unscrambler minigame is a modified version of the Unscrambler Minigame from the past Winter event, with the difference that it has a longer countdown. Upon completing the unscrambler correctly, the player gains 20-30 Gifts.
- The guess-the-shape minigame consists on selecting the proper shape icon for a creature among three candidates. Upon completion, the player wins 15-20 Gifts.
Fallen Star
As for the fallen Star, it spawns at random every 6 minutes after breaking the previous one. Once it spawns a message will appear in chat and as a notification telling that "a fallen star has spawned somewhere on the map, find it and break it for gifts". The star is big enough that spotting it is somewhat easy, albeit the snow props may sometimes hide it or make it more difficult to notice. Upon being bitten a number of times (around 17 times) the star breaks and gives 150 Gifts. This is shared by everyone who bit the star enough times, meaning if two people bit more than thrice the star, both will get 150 Gifts.
Christmas Store
The Christmas Store is accessed by navigating to the Main Menu and clicking on the Gifts event currency box next to the Shooms currency box in the top right corner. This opens the Christmas Store and the first tab to appear is the Gifts tab, which presents players with the option to buy Gifts with Robux.
The store is split into 3 tabs:
- The Gifts tab for players to buy Gifts with Robux.
- The Creatures tab for players to buy Winter Event creatures with Gifts.

Trivia
- Boss fights for this event were removed due to delays on the 2022 Halloween boss fight.
- The placeholder message displayed for the Gifts tab while the player is loading into the game is the same as for Bells the past year: "UrLoading".
- As with the past Winter Event, this event is quite unfriendly for players who recently joined, albeit to a lesser degree; and unfriendly for aquatic creatures, since gifts do not spawn underwater under normal circumstances.
- This event was the first one to feature event-related premium-exclusive items and a temporary price drop in the Shoom Shop.
