The Winter Event of 2020 released on January 1st and ended on January 25th, 2021. On its release, it introduced new limited creatures available only in the Christmas Gacha, which cost 1,000 Shooms initially. Access to the Christmas Gacha could only be unlocked by finding eight unique ornaments. Once the player found all the ornaments, they would also be awarded 150 Shooms.
About Winter Event 2020-2021
The Winter Event was the first big event put together shortly after the official release of Creatures of Sonaria, which focused on the collection of special ornaments with riddle-like clues on how and where to obtain each ornament. Collecting all the ornaments would earn a player the ability to gain access to the Christmas gacha. The event lasted around three weeks, and each week, one creature would release. In order of release, there was Sleirnok, Jotunhel, and Boreal Warden that were all available in the Christmas gacha by the end of the event.
Day 1: Sleirnok
Day 7: Jotunhel
Day 14: Boreal Warden
The Boreal Warden's release was delayed by another week and players were given roughly two (2) days to obtain it.
How You Started
To have started the Christmas event, players must have found the Christmas tree at the center of the map. It was a tall green pine that could've been seen from various points of land. Around the tree were presents and snow. You had to enter the green ring around the tree to see the hints for each ornament.
The Ornaments
Ornaments would've been found all over the map. They varied on how to find them. (Check their hints at the Christmas tree). Below is a small chart that helped players figure out where to find ornaments and how to get them.
Christmas Gacha
The Christmas Gacha was unlocked after the player completed the ornament quest. It was located at the very end of all the other Gachas. It originally costed 800 shooms, however the price rose to 900 Shooms when Jotunhel was added. Once Boreal Warden was added the gacha price rose to 1000 Shooms. After around 2 days of the Boreal Warden being available, it was removed from the Gacha Pack but the price remained at 1000 Shooms. If you had not finished the quest, the Gacha would appear as a present. You were able to see the price of the Gacha but you weren't able to buy or see it's contents. After a day of the Boreal Warden's removal, the winter event ended, although all the creatures, including the Boreal Warden, will return in upcoming winter events.
