The Urzuk is a Tier 3 flying omnivore. The species is not currently available, but was available in the Mystery of the Keys Event 2023 upon completing the Help Rebus side mission, and during the Lore Event 2024 upon completing the Inkpujin's Legacy mission. The trial version is available in the Trial Creatures Shop for 300♂/3000♀ Shooms.

Lore
- A collective design of the Wardens, the Urzuk is a creature of many skills. Each Urzuk individual is capable of a different quality.
- Urzuk has the appearance and qualities of Malveathian, Serphelius, and Qhualhul This does not imply these are the only contributors of its creation, just that those are the creators it resembles.
- Rebus (Ree-buss) is the Urzuk mentioned in the Sonarian lore, who is responsible for documenting the placement of the Qhualhul Key Fragments around the map.
- Rebus is the last known Urzuk on the Sonarian continent, and the rest of his species whereabouts are unknown, presumably elsewhere on the Orb.
- This individual is capable of powerful magic that allows him to know the location of Warden keys.
- Rebus was taught by the species Owa'Stryrus to read and write, meaning that their Journal was legible.
- This journal contained diagrams of the journeys that he had been on, leading future readers to the possible whereabouts of the fabled key fragments of the Boreal Warden. Rebus was recaptured at the end of the “Mystery of the Keys” Event, by Boreal Warden.
Artist Headcanon
- As a side note of what the description says, Urzuk can actually be killed if the method used completely destroys their body and leaves no traces or remains behind.
- Being thrown on a potent-enough acid would definetely kill them. However, while Urzuk is made of marble, it is also composed of other mysterious materials which would make it only effective against extremely powerful acids capable of melting through the ground, like hydrochloric acid. Lemon juice or vinegar would definetely not work.
- If that were to happen, and according to Renorayz, "the wardens can just go then, 'oopsie this one died' and make a new one. In my eyes Urzuks are expendable to the wardens, they're built to last, but at the end of the day, they're meant to be soldiers/servants, it doesn't matter to them if it dies that much".
- Variants of Urzuk can exist, depending on the warden they represent, and which would share more characteristics with such warden avatar in particular, with the most noticeable changes being the mask and some feather and floating details, and being slightly more or less chubby, fitting more with the warden avatar's general chubbiness.
- Urzuk are capable of romantic feelings with each other, but having partners would be uncertain due to their high rarity.
Appearance
The Urzuk is a large quadrupedal creature with large wings, a long tail ending in a sharp tip that somewhat resembles a scorpion's stinger, strong front legs, frills behind the head, long tufted ears, and a brown elongated face mask. Urzuk has three black eyes on its mask with purple glowing iris. The third eye located vertically between the first and second eye. Between its horns there is fourth floating eye, diamond-shaped. On its neck there are two gold half rings. Its hands resemble those of a human, with five fingers, although it is quadrupedal. Next to its ankles float three small feathers. Its belly, unlike the white-beige base, is dark purple, and it is dotted with eye spots, but these eyes are not real. Its hind legs are also dark purple, and they also have two eye spots. There is a gold ring on Urzuk's hind ankles. The Urzuk's hind paws, unlike its front paws, are cat-like, and they are three-toed. Its wings are large and smooth, they have almost no sharp edges. In front of the wings are float 3 feather-like things. The base of the wing is dark purple, like the belly and legs, but the feathers themselves are beige, like the base. Urzuk's tail itself is dark purple, being something of an extension of the spot on its belly, but it has a tuft of beige fur hanging off it at the beginning, and is almost entirely decorated with gold rings. The tip of the tail, which resembles a scorpion's stinger, is golden, and in the center of it there is an eye, with black eye with purple glowing iris.
Urzuk has no gender dimorphism.
Abilities
Main Article: Creature Abilities
This section is intended to list and describe the abilities of the Urzuk. (editor list)
- Agile Swimmer is passive ability, similar to legacy's Streamlined, which buffs the player when submerged underwater for more than a second, receiving the following buffs:
- 100% more stamina regeneration
- 50% more total stamina
- 75% more walk speed
- 75% more sprint speed
- 15% more oxygen, if the creature is a semi-aquatic; 180% more oxygen otherwise.
- Additionally, like with legacy Streamlined, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse of the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted, since until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
- Note that since most of these are multipliers, creature incapable of naturally recovering stamina underwater do not get any stamina regeneration boost (as any fraction of 0 is still 0).
- Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a passive ability that grants the creature resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. Recode's equivalent of bleed defense; it is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% bleed defense, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed.
- If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages, that is, a creature with 100% Block Bleed will have some fraction of bleed defense while growing, being such fraction bigger as it grows.
- A negative value in-game may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect this ability is supposed to protect from.
- Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the creature resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
- Breath Damage Resistance is a passive ability which decreases the percentage of damage received by the user from breath abilities, a 100% breath resistance means full immunity from the damage dealt from elemental breaths, but not for the status effects they afflict, which remain unaffected.
- Frostbite touch/Defensive Frostbite is an ability that defensively deals frostbite when bitten.
- Defensive Poison/Melee Toxin is a passive ability that makes a creature toxic by melee - that is, being bitten by another creature will cause the attacker to receive Poison Status, as much as the bitten creature has labeled on their stats and affected by modifiers such as some plushies or resistances. Stacks with itself.
- Diver is a passive ability that grants a creature the ability to temporarily keep flying underwater for a short period. The exact period is displayed in the information section, in seconds. As a side effect, and probably due to buggy behavior, it sometimes allows the user of this ability to regain stamina underwater, particularly during violent winds.
- Flight is an active ability pertaining to the special control Jump/Dart/Glide/Flight and inherent to all Fliers and legacy mobility type All-Terrain creatures have this ability. However, due to the fact all-terrain got absorbed into Flier, this means that with purely recode terminology, only fliers have the ability. Creatures with flight ability as dominant cannot jump per se (only with jump superseding flight if jump has a certain jump age value), they instead enter flight or glide mode - however some creatures may also present the jump ability replacing the flight one as the dominant at some point in their live stage. Flying and takeoff both take stamina. If there's not enough stamina, the creature cannot fly. A creature with flight can switch between flight and glide and vice-versa without that switch costing stamina.
- Fortify is an active ability toggled by the regular active abilities buttons and with a 90-second cooldown that wipes pretty much all status effects deemed as negative, except thirst and hunger, plushie-derived and weather effects. However, it may also wipe some beneficial status effects if they present one negative debuff. It also grants a very-short immunity to effects applied shortly after activating this ability, and increases weight by 5% for a short period according to the stack (3, on this case).
- Glide is an active ability pertaining to the special control Jump/Dart/Glide/Flight and inherent to all gliders and glider semi-aquatics have this ability as primary. However, due to the fact glider semi-aquatics got absorbed into Semi-Aquatics, the correct recode terminology would be to say that all Gliders and a few Semi-Aquatics and Aquatics have this ability as primary. Flier (and all-terrain) creatures have this ability as well, but the Jump/Dart/Glide/Flight button is not their primary, but the toggle glide button. Creatures with glide ability cannot jump per se, they instead enter flight or glide mode, unless jump supersedes them via some jump age value. If there's not enough stamina, the creature can hardly glide. Depending on some creature factors like tier and glide stamina regeneration, as well as some environmental conditions, a creature can or cannot regain stamina while gliding.
- Hunters Curse is an active ability, which costs half total health to use, but increases damage by 100% for 10 stacks (30 seconds). Has a 120 second cooldown.
- Keen Observer is a passive ability that allows the user to see the health of nearby creatures as a green HP bar over them. It also includes the ability to see equipped Plushies and all the Traits and status effects affecting them, albeit not their exact levels directly (nor the exact traits due to the indicators all being in green or red according to the buffs or debuffs). This has several advantages, from knowing who to protect, knowing if someone is suffering hypothermia/hunger/dehydration, spotting invisible and scent-hidden creatures, to knowing which target is the weakest/most debuffed and acting in consequence.

Trivia
- Concept by Renorayz in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord.
- Inspired by sphinxes/Lamassu, weeping angels, golems and ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian wall art. Urzuk's appearance was also slightly inspired by Hunter/the Golden Guard from The Owl House.
- The Urzuk's appearance is also said to be based on the Boreal Warden, Eigion Warden, and Angelic Warden. Not only does the Urzuk share a few characteristics and possible history with the wardens, but 3 of its in-game abilities seem to come from them as well; defensive frostbite seems to come from the Boreal Warden, the diver ability seems to come from the Eigion Warden being aquatic, and the keen observer ability may come from the Angelic Warden. It also has the breath resistance ability, which might have also been inherited from the Wardens.
- At one point during the design process, Urzuk had three ears.
- The Urzuk is the species of Rebus, the name of the individual Urzuk featured in the game's official Lore.
- Urzuk is the first Lore event creature for the game.
- Along with the Warden's abilities, a few characteristics that the Urzuk has similar to the 3 Wardens are:
- Urzuk has Boreal Warden-like feathers floating on the sides of its wings, on the back of its legs, and on its back.
- Urzuk has Eigion Warden-like eyes on its body and the Warden's fins on certain parts of its body, mainly the tail and back legs. Unlike the Eigion however, whose body eyes are said to be false, Urzuk's body eyes may be actual eyes as they turn red during the Blood Moon just like the eyes on its face.
- Urzuk has Angelic Warden wings, furriness, and just general looks. It also has similar body eyes the Angelic has, but not the same shape as Eigion's. Urzuk was stated to be based off of Angelic Warden the most.
- Its color palette, while having several similarities to Angelic Warden's cream and dark gray colors, also shares some of the colors (or at least similar ones, but stronger) to Eigion's (reddish hues -> strong reds and oranges; turquoise blues -> blues and greens) and Boreal's (faint purplish bluish hues -> strong blues and purples; faint greens -> green).
- When entering sleep mode, Urzuk have their pupils shut down so none of the pupil lights can be seen.
