Description
| “ | Thykallos are social creatures, living on the beaches in groups of 5-8. They don't have very good eyesight yet they have an amazing sense of smell and touch thanks to their incredibly long antennae. They possess mysterious rings around their body that are said to be made out of sunlight. | „ |
| ~ In-game Description |
Behavior
- Thykallos are social creatures, and work as a team to patrol the beaches for prey. They mostly look out for invasive species and thus are very important to the ecosystem there.
- Thykallos are known to help groom each other and themselves after a long beach chase, helping each other to clean sand and dirt out of their eyes, antennae and noses.
- Thykallos sometimes take a dip in the water to cool off or just to vibe. They cannot survive well in dry areas.
- They wiggle the tips of their tails when they feel joyous or proud.
- The 'leader' of the pack will usually be a female with the largest tail crest.
Artist Headcanon
- The floating gear-like spears is what helps them to control the heat in their body to gush out boiling water.
- Thykallos are near-sighted, but their sensitive antennae make up for that.
Appearance
The Thykallos is a mostly-biped, medium-sized tetrapod. It has a spiked, long harpoon-like tail, spiked scales decorating their arms and legs, and a hair mane decorating its top neck, head and torso. Two sets of ears and ear-like lobes rest on top of its head. Whisker-like antenna appendages sprout from its lower, spiked jaw (2 pairs) and its thigh (another 2 pairs). Its front legs end on 4-fingered, long-clawed hands, that seem to move in a mechanical way. On top of their snout and thighs, ring-like representations of sun rays appear.
Males
Males have no additional features.
Females
Females have an extra ring-like sun rays at the end of their tails.
Abilities
Main Article: Creature Abilities
This section is intended to list and describe the abilities of the Thykallos. (editor list)
- Agile Swimmer is a passive ability that causes the player to receive the following buffs when submerged underwater for more than a second:
- 100% more stamina regeneration
- 50% more total stamina
- 75% more walk speed
- 75% more sprint speed
- A % increase in oxygen (oxygen increase percentage is based off the amount of oxygen the creature originally has)
Additionally, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted. Until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
- Ambush is a recode-only ability that allows a temporary speed boost according to an ambush multiplier inherent to the species. It can be toggled by pressing the correct active ability key, which may vary between creatures. It automatically deactivates after either a set period of time, when stamina runs out, or after halting movement, whichever happens first. Ambush can be used while sprinting. Activating the ability while another instance of the ability is active will not stack max time and stamina consumption. Additionally, Ambushing disrupts strafing.
- Bleed Attack is a passive ability, where the user inflicts a specific amount of bleed status on a creature with every bite, excluding with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
- Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a percentage based passive ability that grants the user resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at minimum. If an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% Block Bleed, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages. If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. If a creature's Block Bleed is negative, it may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect.
- Frosty is a passive ability that causes the user to receive +25% stamina regeneration, +25% health regeneration, -25% thirst depletion, and -25% hunger depletion during Winter and Famine. Additionally, it prevents getting hypothermia from blizzards.
- Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
- Solar Beam is an active ability using the ability control (C on PC or
on Mobile) that is similar to Elemental Breath, but once activated it will not stop firing and has a fixed duration that inflicts 2.5 DPS. This ability has a Capacity of 10, a Regen Rate of 0, a Range of 400 studs, and a TimeBeforeFire of 2 seconds. It can AutoFire and has a Cooldown of 120 seconds. - Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows the user to offensively deal the Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite.
