Appearance
The Exterreri is a large reptile-like creature similar to the Komodo dragon, but with some rauisuchian features, such as a Fasolasuchus. 'Fur' runs along its neck and ends in a long sickle-shaped tail. Additionally, it has boney fingers and toes. Several armor plates cover its tail and jaw. Each of its four legs are adorned with a large eye on the shoulder/thigh. The primary feature of the species is its elongated, rectangular head, which presents a large gap between its teeth and jaws, and its mouth displaying white sharp teeth, a red long pointed tongue; and three eyes on each side of its face, with horizontal slit pupils similar to that of a goat or sheep.
Males
Males have frills at the end of their tail.
Females
Females have no additional features.
Abilities
Main Article: Creature Abilities
This section is intended to list and describe the abilities of the Exterreri. (editor list)
- Agile Swimmer is passive ability, similar to legacy's Streamlined, which buffs the player when submerged underwater for more than a second, receiving the following buffs:
- 100% more stamina regeneration
- 50% more total stamina
- 75% more walk speed
- 75% more sprint speed
- 15% more oxygen, if the creature is a semi-aquatic; 180% more oxygen otherwise.
- Additionally, like with legacy Streamlined, a glider semi-aquatic (and an aqua-glider) can abuse of the extra stamina to increase the number of glide flaps it can perform from the water boosted, since until they touch the ground or stop gliding, the boosted stamina amount will remain.
- Note that since most of these are multipliers, creature incapable of naturally recovering stamina underwater do not get any stamina regeneration boost (as any fraction of 0 is still 0).
- Bleed Block/Block Bleed is a passive ability that grants the creature resistance to getting bleed status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. Recode's equivalent of bleed defense; it is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% bleed defense, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed.
- If a creature's Block Bleed is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages, that is, a creature with 100% Block Bleed will have some fraction of bleed defense while growing, being such fraction bigger as it grows.
- A negative value in-game may indicate an extra vulnerability to the status effect this ability is supposed to protect from.
- Burn Block/Block Burn is a passive ability that grants the creature resistance to getting burn status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 burn per hit and the receiver has 60% block burn, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 burn.
- If a creature's block burn is 100%, then they are immune to Burn inflicted by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages, that is, a creature with 100% burn defense will have some fraction of burn defense while growing, being such fraction bigger as it grows.
- Injury Block/Block Injury is a passive ability that grants the creature resistance to getting Injury status from melee attacks at the very least, and every other source at most. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 Injury per hit and the receiver has 60% Injury Block, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 Injury.
- Cause Fear is an active ability and Recode's equivalent of Fear; gives all creatures around the user 10 stacks of Scared Status effect.
- Charge (Crush) or Crush Charge is an specific type of Charge that inflicts Injury Status on the victim.
- Climber is a passive ability that allows a creature to walk on walls along with ceilings and some uncollidable terrain if climbing on the right angle. To detach from a wall or ceiling, press Space on PC. On Mobile, press the dedicated Detach button, or, if the creature has Jump, press the jump button.
- Corrosion Attack/Corrosion Bite is an ability that offensively deals Corrosion when biting. Stacks with itself. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
- Grab is an active ability, the recode's equivalent of Legacy's creature "grab a lighter creature", allowing a creature to pick up a lower-tiered creature. Unlike legacy's, it has several pecularities, among them that grabbing is no longer based on weight, but tier. Another peculiarity is that grabbed creatures cannot escape until 5 seconds later. After that, the grabbed creature can struggle by using any button and will release such creature from the grab. The user can ungrab at any moment by pressing the same button used to grab. A creature darting from outside water will grab any creature it finds automatically. Interestingly enough, using this ability may also make a piece of grabbed food drop.
- Injury Attack is an ability that offensively deals injury status when biting. A negative value means that it heals an amount of such status upon biting.
- Iron Stomach is a passive ability which allows the user to eat rotten meat without getting negative ailments from it - preventing getting the Sickly Status.
- Tail Whip/Secondary melee attack is an special active ability which grants another melee attack, usually from behind (thus, Tail Whip), which is activated according to where the camera is facing. Code-wise it has a secondary damage stat, which allows main and secondary melee attacks to deal different base damage. No offensive status effects are given from this secondary attack, and it is not boosted by most effects, except eldering.
- Wing Shredder is a passive ability that allows a creature to offensively deal Shredded Wings status to a creature they bite, with an amount specific of the user creature.

Trivia
- Designed by @EastByEast(East) on the Creatures of Sonaria Discord.
- Based off a Komodo dragon.
- Despite what people might say, Exterreri is not based on a crocodilian, but only (very) slightly of their pseudosuchian predecessors. It lacks any swimming features, making it non-aquatic, although its sickle tail may be mistaken for a fin. Despite this, people still claim it is based on crocodilian, possibly because of the shape of its head and the ridges running down its tail.
- Based off a Komodo dragon.
- Modeled by Erythia.
- Redesign by Stood (Stood_04).
- According to Stood, "Ext's redesign was a remake of an older redesign I made along with east ages ago, it resembled the original design much more but it was decided a little more detail and spice was wanted, so I went for a more mutated look focusing on the boney plate features, eyes, and 'veins'".
- Redesign modeled by yezzein.
- Redesign animations by BlckBrryJam.
- It was one of the few playable creatures during the game's Beta stage.
- On June 18th, 2021, the Exterreri was moved from the Random Gacha and Carnivores Gacha to the Session Gacha.
- 'Exterreri' translates to "Nightmare" or "Terror" in Latin.
- Interestingly, after being moved to Session Gacha, it gained the "Fear" ability.
- It is the first creature with the Night Stalker ability.
- There is a bug that does not allow players to paint white spots red. If they try, it'll revert to default.
- Exterreri can be colored blue by selecting the navy blue on the default skin, but will show as default in-game.
