Terrestrial/Legacy

Terrestrials, also referred to as land or grounded creatures, were the most common mobility type in legacy. They are characterized by their inferior swimming capability and complete inability to fly or glide. There is no designated type gacha for terrestrials specifically, but they may be obtained from any other gacha besides the legacy Semi-Aquatic, Sea, and Sky Gachas as a rule.

Legacy terrestrials generally all share the following characteristics:

• They can walk and run on land, regaining stamina any time they are not running so long as they are not also swimming. They cannot fly nor glide anywhere, but they can still "fall with style" by trying to run in the air, most noticeable with the fastest creatures and laggy connections.
• While they can dive and swim underwater, their speed will severely reduce and they will not regenerate stamina. Instead, the bar will passively deplete for as long as they are suspended in water, and the creature will suffer drowning damage once the bar is emptied.
  • They cannot sprint in water under normal circumstances. Terrestials with the ability to ambush can continue sprinting if they travel into water mid-ambush, but this requires that the ability be activated on land. Initiating ambush underwater is not possible.
• Terrestrials cannot sit or lay down underwater, nor can they emote. They cannot preform any of these actions mid-air.
• Nests and food storages cannot be placed underwater by terrestrial creatures. Female terrestrials place terrestrial nests.
• Unless they have a Winter tag, terrestrials suffer hypothermia damage when attempting to swim during winter and famine. They may also be drowned by being encased in ice during the winter.

Gliders[]

Main article: Glider/Legacy

While distinct as a mobility type, legacy gliders are counted internally as terrestrials and appear as such in some menus (e.g. while sorting one's inventory by "land") and while nesting. Due to this quirk, actions preformed by gliders may also count towards terrestrial-specific missions. For example, during the Summer Paradise Event of 2023, a glider could be used to quickly preform Rorolo's mission far faster than one could with an actual terrestrial.

Minawii-like[]

Previously, a small minority of terrestrials did not lose stamina underwater and did not drown upon stamina depletion. Instead, similarly to Minawii-type semi-aquatics, they would suffer asphyxia damage when left underwater for too long. Asphyxiation behaved like faster variant of drowning that would stop upon either leaving the water or reaching the water's surface. Through this, the creature could remain swimming indefinitely.

The only known Minawii-like terrestrials were Chrysos and Morinus.
