Fliers, also simply called flying creatures were a common and versatile mobility type in legacy. They are characterized by their ability to fly and glide, as well as being able to toggle between both modes. Their type gacha is the Sky Gacha, but they may be obtained from any gacha that is not the Semi-Aquatic or Sea Gacha as a rule. Due to their drop pools, they are also incidentally absent from the Photovore and Sweet Explorer Gachas.

Legacy fliers generally all share the following characteristics:

  • They can walk and run on land, regaining stamina any time they are not running so long as they are not also swimming.
  • At the expense of their stamina, fliers can take off any time they are standing. They are able to toggle in and out of glide while airborne, and will regenerate stamina while in this state. While stamina-efficient, they cannot hover or gain significant height while gliding.
  • While they can dive and swim underwater, their speed will severely reduce and they will not regenerate stamina. Instead, the bar will passively deplete for as long as they are suspended in water, and the creature will suffer drowning damage once the bar is emptied.
    • They cannot sprint in water under normal circumstances. Fliers with the ability to ambush can continue sprinting if they travel into water mid-ambush, but this requires that the ability be activated on land. Initiating ambush underwater is not possible.
    • If they have sufficient stamina, fliers can take off from the surface of the water.
  • Fliers cannot sit or lay down underwater, nor can they emote. They cannot preform any of these actions mid-air.
  • Nests and food storages cannot be placed underwater by fliers. Female fliers place flier nests.
  • Unless they have a Winter tag, fliers suffer hypothermia damage when attempting to swim during winter and famine. They may also be drowned by being encased in ice during the winter.

Otherwise-flying creatures with semi-aquatic traits are not categorized as standard fliers, instead falling into the all-terrain mobility type. Despite this, all-terrain creatures may still count towards flier-related missions and are functionally identical to standard fliers besides their ability to swim.

There are 57 creatures of this type.
