Introduction
Fliers, also simply called flying creatures are a common and versatile mobility type. They are characterized by their ability to fly and glide, as well as being able to toggle between both modes. Every flier possesses the "Sky" base type.
Their type gacha is the Sky Gacha, but they may be obtained from any gacha that is not the Sea Gacha as a rule. Due to their drop pools, they are also incidentally absent from the Omnivores, Photovore Explorer, and Sweet Gachas.
Most fliers have poor aquatic mobility akin to that of terrestrials. Besides this, fliers generally all share the following characteristics:
- They are able to walk and run on land, regaining stamina any time they are grounded so long as they are not actively sprinting.
- They universally have access to the Flight ability and are able to expend stamina in order to take off. Stamina will continue to drain while actively flying, and completely depleting a creature's stamina mid-flight will cause it to drop.
- Flying into an object may also force a flier to drop. If the creature has enough stamina, it may be able to enter fly mid-fall to "catch" itself.
- The amount of stamina required for a flier to take off will vary from creature-to-creature. A flier with insufficient stamina will not be able to take off.
- Fliers afflicted with Shredded Wings or Broken Legs also cannot take off.
- Fliers may also take off from the surface of the water and experience a takeoff boost whenever they do. They are not able to take off while swimming any deeper.
- Fliers can toggle in and out of glide once airborne, which allows them to remain afloat without spending stamina. They may regenerate stamina while gliding, with the rate differing from creature-to-creature. Creatures of higher tiers generally recover far slower than their smaller counterparts. While this state is stamina-efficient, they cannot hover nor gain significant height in while gliding.
- Fliers may sprint-fly and sprint-glide, which will increase the creature's speed at the cost of additional stamina.
- True of all creatures, fliers cannot place nests or territories in mid-air, nor can they emote while airborne.
Whether or not a flier can perform certain actions underwater (such as sitting, laying, sprinting, emoting, or placing nests or territories) depends on whether or not they possess semi-aquatic/aquatic traits. Any flier who does not possess these traits will have the same underwater capabilities as a terrestrial instead and face a similarly large risk of drowning. Usually, terrestrial-type fliers will not have a moisture bar, while those with other types of aquatic or dry land mobility may or may not have such needs.
There are 100 creatures of this type.

- Dry Skin Flier, with no moisture needs.
- Permeable Skin Flier, with moisture needs.
Skyquatic
Skyquatic is an official name, but not yet introduced as such name in-game, for the Flier sub-group which instead of having the same dry-land and underwater mobility of terrestrials; have those of full Aquatics. As such, these can be recognized by having a beached speed factor (if the factor is not in-game, we have properly included it here, on the wiki); and they usually have a moisture bar. Skyquatics can also place aquatic nests underwater, similarly to aquatics. However, and unlike most regular aquatics, they may have an oxygen bar. Additionally, when trying to fly from the water surface, if they have dart as an ability, they will dart instead.
There are 4 creatures of this type.
To help with listing some sub-sub-mobility types, these support, not in-game, categories have been created:
- Dry Skin Skyquatic, with no moisture needs.
- Permeable Skin Skyquatic, with moisture needs.
- Eu Skyquatic, without an oxygen bar.
- Air-breather Skyquatic, with an oxygen bar.
All-terrain
- Main article: All-Terrain
- Also see Air-breather All-Terrain and Eu All-Terrain for creatures which fall into this category.
All-terrain is an obsolete mobility type present in the game's legacy version. Every legacy all-terrain creature has been effectively absorbed into the flier category, but still retain their semi-aquatic traits. As a result, fliers with semi-aquatic traits (usually a high oxygen stat of 300 or greater and the ability to swim) are still colloquially referred to as all-terrain and are almost functionally identical to their legacy counterparts.
Fliers with these traits can perform the same actions as semi-aquatics while underwater, notably being able to sprint and regenerate stamina while swimming. While there is no specific label designed to indicate this fact in-game, they can typically be identified by either a high oxygen stat (with a mildly high success rate), or no oxygen stat at all (which guarantees that Flier is an All-Terrain). Furthermore, the game — in some instances — appears to count them as semi-aquatic creatures, enabling their use in semi-aquatic-specific missions (such as in obtaining Magnacetus' artifacts).
All-terrain creatures can also place nests underwater, whereas semi-aquatics typically cannot. These nests will stick to whatever terrain is directly below the creature placing them, as opposed to aquatic nests which float suspended in water. This trait appears to be an oversight and does not extend to placing territories.
Age-specific flight
- Main article: Age-specific flight or glide
A small minority of fliers are unable to fly outside of a particular age range, often indicated by a lack of wings on their model. They will may possess the other same button abilities only (like Jump) in place of flight until they reach that age, and are consequently the only fliers theoretically capable of jumping at all; or lack any ability. They behave as normal once they reach their flight age.
There are 11 creatures with this trait.
