The Banishii is a Tier 4 flying carnivore. The species is available in the Robux Shop for 1575 Robux. The stored version is available in the Trial Creatures Shop for
937 Shooms.
- Second Color Palette: It has a second color palette, which is unlocked by inflicting 120 poison/poison bites.
Description
“ | Banishii are clever desert dwelling species, as intelligent as Bazelii, and have a similar queen system. They are diurnal species, and love covering themselves in shiny, reflective accessories. Their queen lives in a desert castle adorned with thousands of mirrors to reflect as much light as possible. Unlike their counterparts, these creatures favor speed over brute strength, but can still do a good chunk of damage to their enemy. | „ |
~ In-game Description |
Behavior
- Banishiis cover their dens in reflective materials (specially metals) in order to bring in as much light as possible.
Artist Headcanon
- They believe that the light from the sun makes them and their environment purer and cleaner. Additionally, sunlight is warm.
Appearance
The Banishii is a dragon-like creature with an upright stance and some squamate (specifically varanid) features, a somewhat hunched back with small legs, and feathered larger front arms. It has two feathery wings with seemingly five (5) fingers each. It has arrow-shaped spikes coming out from the neck and tail, with those on top of the tail's base being the longest and most sharp-looking. Its head presents large appendages, smaller the closer to the snout, and a horn between its snout bridge and forehead, with two (2) floating rings going through the horn. Its black tongue flickers out of its mouth, similar to snakes or monitor lizards. Banishii is also adorned with one silver ring on each hand. The Banishii's hind talons are largely similar to those of the Bazelii, possibly hinting at the fact of being its counterpart. Another hint of this is the star on the Banishii's palm, which corresponds with the eye on Bazelii's palm.
Males
Males have an arrow-like decoration under the tip of their lower jaw.
Females
Females have no additional features.
Abilities
Main Article: Creature Abilities
This section is intended to list and describe the abilities of the Banishii/Legacy. (editor list)
- Bleed Defense is a passive ability that allows creatures to resist the effects of Bleed. It is percentage based, e.g. if an attacker deals 5 bleed per hit and the receiver has 60% bleed defense, then the receiver gets only 2 of that 5 bleed. If a creature's Bleed Defense is 100%, then they are immune to Bleed done by melee direct attacks once fully grown. This ability is gained gradually as the creature ages, that is, a creature with 100% bleed defense will have some fraction of bleed defense while growing, being such fraction bigger as it grows.
- Speed Blitz is an active ability using the ability control (Q on PC or
> Actions > Use ability) that progressively applies a boost to walk, run, and flight speed that drains 2% of your max stamina every second. The speed gradually increases as your stamina depletes, capping at 30% extra speed after reaching 50% stamina, and you cannot regenerate stamina while it is active. The ability ends when the user runs out of stamina or when cowering, sitting, or laying down. It has a 2 minute cooldown after ending.
- Strength in Numbers is a passive ability which buffs the player based on how many adult same-species creatures are in a pack. Each same-species mod adds one stack, the max amount of stacks is 4 (4 stacks = 4 adult same-species in a pack together). When there's only 1 of such same-species on the pack (that is, the creature is the only one in the pack) it counts as no stack, but the moment another adult same-species joins it counts ALL the same-species members on the pack. That's why when there are only two adults of the same species it gives double the boost the first time.[Collapse] Stack Buffs[Expand] to see the buffs provided by each stack.
- Provided buffs
- 5% more weight.
- 5% more hp.
- 5% more damage.
- +1 bleed (regardless of your creature having bleed previously) | +2 bleed (first cat plushie regardless of being a bleeder or not).
- +0.25 poison (if your creature already has poison, offensive or defensive)
- Toxin is a status effect that is applied by inflicting damage through contact melee attacks and contains three levels of severity when stacking the effect, similar to other Poisons, such as Poison (with poison and toxin being stacked together) and Radiation Sickness. The first stage from 0-11 of this effect, decreases health and stamina regeneration by 25%. From 11-20, it depletes stamina by 3% every 3 seconds. From 20 and higher, it damages 3% of the target's max health every 3 seconds. If sitting or laying, the health of creatures inflicted with this effect will not be lowered by this status below 10%.
Gameplay
Pros
The Banishii is a carnivorous flier with a decent appetite stat, meaning it can rapidly find suitable food and water, and even if it doesn't, it can remain for a long time without consuming water or food. Being capable of eating on-the-run helps with preventing getting stuck while eating pick-able pieces of food. Thanks to its active ability, it can escape or catch slightly faster creatures for short periods, helping the former make not fully-interested attackers desist from the chase. If combined with its ambush, it can give a decent advantage for a very short period, especially when trying to move underwater.
Its HP and HP regeneration are good enough to survive quite a few hits before going down, with the HP regeneration being OK enough to heal in a reasonable time, even counter-drowning for a while. Its Bleed Defense only makes it a bit more resilient to bleeder melee attacks. With its good damage output combined with a toxic bite, this can make the Banishii quite capable of taking down lighter and heavier targets alike while weakening them as long as they lack any poison resistance.
Its stamina and stamina regeneration are pretty average, if not a bit bad. Thankfully, due to how Speed Blitz works, potential nerf on its total stamina won't reduce how long the ability lasts.
Thanks to the Strength in Numbers ability, the more adult Banishiis in the pack, the more resilient and stronger the Banishii will be, amplifying HP, weight, damage, and status effects and thus making attacks more crippling and defense and grabs more powerful.
Cons
Its base HP and weight are somewhat on the lower end for its tier, with several fliers of lower tiers being as heavy (if not heavier) and/or having more health. This may make this creature have problems when fighting them.
Whilst using its active ability (Speed Blitz), it cannot recover stamina and tires extremely easily and fast (even without doing anything, in around 50 seconds, your creature will be exhausted; considerably faster if you are running, flying, or swimming). This, combined with its long cooldown, ensures the Banishii cannot use its ability to keep prolonged chases against faster creatures. The bad turn rate and lack of ranged defenses make it quite vulnerable to smaller, faster, and more agile creatures, as well as ranged attackers such as breath creatures. Additionally, newer inexperienced players may forget how to deactivate this ability until running out of stamina unnecessarily, making this ability hard to master.
Its horrible nightvision does help it ignore Night Stalkers, but that means it cannot detect creatures at night that aren't right in front of it without scenting, nor if a Night Stalker creature is nearby.
Additionally, due to its black-colored blood, some people may target this creature to see it bleed and drop a black carcass. Its similarity in rarity with Aereis, specifically its difficulty to obtain (in this case, for its high price) and how both had yellow blood, also marked it as a potential target for immature players and for those who had already targeted Aereis.
Carry-able Creatures
The Can-Carry lists features lists of creatures that Banishii/Legacy is carried by, can carry, can grab, and can be grabbed by in LEGACY. To see the lists and their toggles to view each, click on the collapsible text to the right of the table below, to Expand or Collapse the list.
Trivia
- Concept by CatasticalCalamity in the Creatures of Sonaria Discord.
- Inspired by SandWings, spiky fences, and snakes.
- When Wolfragon announced Banishii, he mistook it for Yin (darkness and corruption), though it is supposed to be Yang.
- Lore-wise, some Banishii often have dark snake-like patterns but are never completely dark in color. Banishii has some subspecies that resemble different types of snakes, depending on their environment and evolution.
- Modeled by JaxonBirb.
- Animations by BlckBrryJam.
- Although Banishii's tail was initially the only part of its model to be revealed, Wolfragon revealed its full model after JaxonBirb's reaction ratioed the original post on Discord.
- Banishii has black textured blood. Due to that, when dying, it drops a black carcass- this trait is partially shared with the Novus Warden, who also has black blood but is untextured.
- No real-life creature has this color exactly, albeit hemoglobin (which gives red blood to mammals)-venous blood can get somewhat close. An example of this, though not the only one, would be the Ayam Cemani, an Indonesian chicken breed with fibromelanism, which makes them totally black from the inside out; the only non-black things about them is their white eggs and red blood, though the latter is commonly mistaken to be black because of its very dark red color.
- Banishii previously had untextured yellow blood. Due to that, when dying, it dropped a yellow carcass.
- This color can be seen in real life in some creatures with vanabin (a yellow pigment) in their blood, like sea cucumbers.
- Banishii is the fifth non-Developer Robux creature.
- Banishii is the first non-plush creature in the Robux Shop, a trait it shares with its Yin-themed counterpart, Bazelii.
- Banishii can more or less safely traverse through lava (idle animation, sitting, laying down, aggro, cower, hiding scent, and walking over lava don't hurt the Banishii except for the initial contact), as seen here.
- Both the Banishii and its counterpart, the Bazelii, share multiple traits:
